Jesus loves me, this I know.
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong.
They are weak, but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
The Bible tells me so.

-Jesus loves me, this I know – do you know Jesus loves you? Do you know it in the way the Apostle John knew Jesus loved him? He was so convinced of it, when he wrote his gospel, he referred to himself as … the disciple whom Jesus loved.
The disciple whom Jesus loved? Yes, the disciple whom Jesus loved. I encourage you to take a moment and say to yourself out loud, I am the one Jesus loves.
How does it feel?
Does it feel true?
Because, my sisters and brothers, it is. John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, wrote the following in a letter:
9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. (1 John 4:9–10, NLT)
God loved us first.
Jesus is proof.
How fitting it is, as we considered Jesus’ death on the cross this past Easter Sunday, to take time to reflect on God’s great love for us; to remember that through faith in Jesus, we are God’s dearly loved children.
Creativity flows from well-loved people. Think of the times your heart sings and the ideas come easily – it is when your heart is full. Take some time to receive and enjoy God’s love for you today.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for loving me first, before I loved you. Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice on the cross that made my forgiveness and freedom possible. Please fill my heart afresh with your love through your Holy Spirit today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
I encourage you to take a moment to linger in the Lord’s presence and sing,
Jesus Loves Me
